Devices & Events

Summary

As part of the call data, some statistics about the device and endpoint are recorded that may point to issues. For example, device “glitches” are where the device loses connection for a brief period, and can be caused by driver issues, device firmware, or interference for wireless (DECT or Bluetooth) devices.

This report provides a view into the quality experience being delivered to users by their devices and endpoints. This is the most verbose information for devices for each call type by device microphone and headset with the associated events per device type. A particular device having a high percentage of events may point to an issue that can be resolved with a firmware update.

Use the date, Active Directory and Call Type slicers at the top of the report to limit to a particular area of interest. Further advanced filtering can be done using the Filter pane on the right hand side.

Tips

You might notice when viewing device reports that you see the same device reported multiple times. This is due to the way the device is reported being reported by Microsoft Graph Call records API. Differences in users hardware and OS locale cause differences in how device data is reported.

Sort by each event column within the table to determine the association of device events, here an example events by non-certified devices.

Then right click and drill through to get to the user association to the event.
